Where did autumn go?

I’ve been listening to a Swedish artist all afternoon. Sometimes it is very nice to hear your first language sung. It’s very restful for my head hearing Swedish once in a while. Anyway, my plan today was to get around photo shooting some warming crocheted item; however England decided to offer a late heat wave in late September. I’m a little confused honestly.

Knowing that if I’d still live in Sweden I’d be going out in shawls and mittens some days and never ever leaving my jacket at home. There would be night frost some nights and all the leaves would have started to turn bright yellow. Well the warmth has put me off the photo shooting so I’ll show you some random photos of things on my desk again. Little projects I’m thinking about. Even some autumn inspiration I brought with me inside...

Thoughts on a Tuesday

I realised yesterday that I haven’t photographed myself for several months. I used to do it all the time. Snap odd pictures of me, laughing a little, use them for the self portraits I used to do, maybe feel a little self-conscious about it. Most do though, photograph themselves I mean. In some ways you don’t exist unless you’re being looked at by someone, even if that someone is yourself.

I mainly photograph what I make now a day. I got file after file of images relating to my craft, not so much art anymore sadly. Maybe I’ve moved on from the “I don’t exist unless someone see me” to “I don’t exist unless someone see what I do”. Whether it’s a good change or not, I don’t know…

Like most I want to know that I’m doing a good job. I want to be acknowledged for what I do/make. Today getting that acknowledgement is difficult. You’re a tiny thing in a much globalised world. There’s nothing to mark you out really. At the same time I often wonder at successful creative persons, they are not so much different from me, but yet they get all this attention. Thinking about it has led me to the conclusion that luck plays a big part, luck and a big social network. If you don’t have that than what do you do? I don’t know, but I’m not the type to give up a future in doing something I enjoy, neither am I really that big on being well known as in being a public person. I just want to create and be recognised for the work I do.

Can you guess what it is?

Etsy is now updated! Some more necklaces and bracelets are up. Have a look, you might find something you like.

Here’s a little sneak peek of something coming soon in the shop. Something to keep you warm, can you guess what it is?

Winter Forest

Do you remember the sneak peek of something on my desk a little while ago? Well I finished it and here it is! A winter forest made from little leftover pieces of fabric I had laying around from other projects. I’m quite pleased. What do you think?
Anyhow, my Etsy shop is finally up and running! You’ll find a few things up there now and more will be up in the coming weeks.

Things that takes a lot of time

London is grey, windy and chilly today. I’m having my second cup of green tea for today. Normally I don’t drink that much tea, honestly. But it is slightly chilly in here and autumn like outside so...

I’m keeping crafty busy and thought it about time I show you what I actually do. The perfectionist in me is not all that pleased with the pictures I take at the moment. I’m finding it hard locating a good place in our flat for picture shooting.

James say I’m too fussy and that is probably true so from now on I promise (I’ll try) to update this blog a little more often. Starting with telling you that my etsy shop just needs a few more (time consuming) adjustments and then the first four or so items will be up.

I’ve been putting a whole load of draft listings up so far. A few more adjustments to the descriptions and then all that remain is that last little step, and it’s so hard! You know it’s like jumping head first into something unknown. I’m probably a tad bit too careful about it too.

On my desk again

There are lots of things going on behind the scenes here. So while I sort all that out, here’s a sneak peek of what is on my desk at the moment. Can you guess what it is?
